In order to set up an account with Particle you will need to:

1. Have access to a crypto wallet such as Metamask

2. Verify your identity using a legal identity document (such as a passport or drivers license), and a selfie check.

Step by Step Guide

Step 1: Connecting your wallet

To create an account with Particle you first need to connect your wallet. Without your wallet, you will not be able to gain access to your account. 

a. Click on Start Collecting on the Homepage to connect your wallet

b. Click on Connect Wallet and select the relevant option. Please note if you do not have a wallet, we recommend choosing Metamask. You can find a step by step guide of how to set up a Metamask wallet on your browser here.

c. You then need to sign the message that pops up in your wallet browser extension. If it doesn't, open the wallet browser extension (sometimes you need to enter your password) and you'll be able to sign.

Step 2: Create your Account

a. Enter your email address. Once you've done so, you will receive an email with a confirmation link. Click on Verify Your Email, and you will be directed to verify your identity.

Step 3: Verify your Identity

In order to use the Particle Protocol (and purchase and trade Particles) according to the Particle Terms of Use, you need to verify your identity. We require this in order to comply with the current regulatory landscape. For this reason, the Particle Platform is only available to non-US persons.

To verify your identity:

a. Enter your First and Last Name, and click Verify Me

b. You will then need to upload a picture of an identity document, and a picture of yourself in the form of a selfie. To do so, select the issuing country of your document from the drop down menu, and select the type of document you will be uploading. You can then upload using your computer, or select Continue on Phone and scan the QR code to use your phone to upload all your documents.

c. Submit your application and wait for verification. Your should receive verification within a maximum of 5 minutes. You will receive an email to inform you of a successfully verified account.

You're done. You now have full access to the Particle Protocol.
